For one match, Harlequins swap The Stoop for Twickenham Stadium, the home of English rugby, to host a festive fixture like none other. Approaching its ninth year, attendances for Big Game average over 70,000 for a family day out which provides more than just a rugby match.
Harlequins’ opponents this season are once again Glocuester Rugby as both teams return to Twickenham after last year's stunning ten-try 39-39 thriller.
Off-field entertainment in previous years has included stunning pyrotechnic displays, unique match ball deliveries and entertainment performances from Rudimental, Olly Murs, Lawson, Killer Queen, Pineapple Dance Group, The Rat Pack and X-Factor Winners Matt Cardle and Sam Bailey.
Each year, Harlequins partner with a charity to produce a one-off match shirt exclusively for the fixture and help raise vital funds. This year Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity are the official Big Game 9 shirt partner and will receive £5 of the retail price of every Big Game 9 replica shirt sold. Previous charities have included Cancer Research UK, Hope HIV, Right to Play and the Household Cavalry Foundation.
£1 from all tickets sales and all fundraising proceeds from the day will also go to the Harlequins Foundation in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and other Harlequin Foundation community initiatives.
