The Harlequins Foundation Team, along with a number of Harlequins players, put on a fantastic fundraiser at St Margaret's Tavern.
On Saturday 27th January, Mark Lambert hosted the first Harlequiz and Pie night at the St Margaret’s tavern in aid of the Harlequins Foundation. Attended by 60 Harlequins supporters, and Harlequins Players, including James Horwill, Adam Jones, Joe Marchant, Luke Wallace and James Chisholm, the evening saw more than £1,700 raised for the Harlequins Foundation.
Lambert was Quiz Master, devising rounds on pies, Saints, Margaret’s and taverns, rugby, music, and a film picture round.
Supporters had the opportunity to bid to have a player on their team, which proved particularly beneficial for James Horwill’s team, who ended the evening as champions thanks to Horwill’s knowledge of world populations. It was less successful for Josh McNulty’s team, who came away with the wooden spoon, but with smiles all round.
The Harlequins Foundation would like to thank all the staff at the St Margaret’s Tavern for hosting the Harlequiz, and for providing the evening's food, beverages and raffle prize. The Harlequins Foundation would also like to thank:
- Greene King for donating an overnight stay at The Angel, Bury St Edmunds, and a brewery tour for four for the raffle.
- Mark Lambert for creating and hosting the quiz.
- Everyone who bought tickets and attended the evening, your support and involvement made the night the success it was.
The Harlequins Foundation works to build brighter futures in the communities they work in, and are almost entirely funded by public donations. To find out more about the Harlequins Foundation, including upcoming events – please visit www.harlequins.foundation.
