Monday, 5th March 2018 @ 13:00

Ahead of their match against Richmond Ladies at The Stoop, Harlequins Ladies spent an evening at, Principal Partners, adidas' Brick Lane fitness studio in Tower Hamlets.

After competing in 15 rounds of the inaugral Tyrrells Premier 15s season - as well as national cup and second XV duty - Shaunagh Brown, Davinia Catlin, Ellie Green, Izzy Mayhew, Rebecca Rowe and Tove Viksten all took part in an hour long restorative session put on by fitness duo, Soul Sisters.

Following the conclusion of the session, Brown, Catlin and Rowe all took time to speak to about adidas' commitment to the women's game and the upcoming match against Richmond Ladies at The Stoop (Saturday 10th March, kick-off 15:00, tickets available here.)

"adidas' support is great for us and women in the wider game of rugby," back rower Shaunagh Brown began. "In terms of [comparing ourselves to] the men there is so much that we get that the men get as well. It just shows that we are worthy of the same level of the men. I like to think that we are showing it in how we are playing and how we're performing.

"Come the 10th March we're just going to show everyone what we have got to offer and how much putting so much effort into us makes a difference to our game. We're going to show them that we're here, we mean business and we are Harlequins."

Second row Rebecca Rowe added: "adidas is a brilliant brand and I think they are really happy to support the women's game which is great for us, we love wearing the kit.

"Richmond are our neighbours and quite a few of us used to play for Richmond as well, myself included so it's definitely a bit of a grudge match."

Hooker Davinia Catlin also said: "adidas and Harlequins, you can't beat it. All the girls feel like we are as one and we are performing as one. We've got the same stuff, we all look the same when we turn up to games, it's just the professionalism coming through and it's what this league needs.

"You look back ten years, did you think this would happen? That'd We get regular games at The Stoop, that we'd be trying to break records? Probably not. It's great to see the support that we get given.

"Against Richmond, there is a little bit of history there so it's a little bit more fun isn't it. Everyone hits that little bit harder and it'll be a good game."

On Saturday 10th March, Harlequins will host rivals Richmond at The Stoop (kick-off 15:00) in what is expected to be the biggest women's club rugby match this country has ever seen.
