Harlequins U16s continue their development at Wellington Festival

Thursday, 20th April 2017 @ 11:30

Harlequins U16s enjoyed a successful week at the RFU Academies Festival at Wellington College over the Easter Period.

The week included playing opportunities against other academies, education sessions on topics including nutrition, pro sport pressure, the England player pathway and social media use as well as individual skills clinics from former England players and National Academy Coaches.

On the Tuesday, the young Harlequins went unbeaten in three shortened matches against Gloucester Rugby (40-0), Wasps (15-15) and Leicester Tigers (20-10). They then finished the festival on the Saturday with an excellent 52-17 victory in a rematch against a talented Wasps side (who were also unbeaten on the Tuesday) in a full 70 minute fixture.

Following the festival, England U16s will pick a squad for a one off fixture against Wales on Sunday 30th April at Bridgewater & Albion RFC.
