Matchday preview: London Irish v Harlequins

Saturday, 12th August 2017 @ 09:30

Harlequins continue their pre-season as they head to Hazelwood to take on newly promoted London Irish (kick-off 15:00).

The sides will compete in the Cunningham Duncombe Series, which is now in its third year. The series, named in the memory of London Irish fly-half Jarrod Cunningham and Harlequins scrum-half Nick Duncombe, is currently tied with one win a piece.

The series was conceived in 2015 and kicked off with two matches played at The Stoop which Harlequins won 22–17 and 37-29 respectively. London Irish would tie the series the following year with a 12-28 victory.

Harlequins will be looking to continue their pre-season momentum after their five-try, 19-33 win over Bristol Rugby last Saturday at Cleve RFC. London Irish have yet to play this season.

Ahead of the fixture John Kingston has named a 33-man squad as a number of senior players return to the fold, as well a number of new signings looking for their first run out in Quins colours. Click here to read the team news.

The match will not be televised, you can keep up to date with the action by following Harlequins’ Twitter page, @Harlequins.

Quins will complete their pre-season campaign next Saturday as they take on Greene King IPA Championship side Jersey Reds at The Stoop, kick-off 14:00. Tickets for that match are free for Harlequins Members and start from £10 for general sale tickets by clicking here.

On Saturday 30th December (kick-off 16:00) Harlequins will celebrate a decade of Big Game at Twickenham Stadium.
