Quins Ladies

Harlequin Ladies

Harlequin Ladies Football Club was established in September 1995 when a couple of Quins supporters moved into the area and wanted to set up a Ladies team. The idea soon grew into a squad of players that went on to win their first league campaign, ending the season unbeaten.
During the early years, Harlequin Ladies went from strength to strength, establishing a highly successful youth side, forming strong links with the main club and the local community, all the while developing an enviable social calendar!
During the past two seasons, the Ladies have worked hard to rebuild their club after a number of players retired or relocated. In 2014 alone, 12 brand new players have been introduced to the great game of rugby, and have been training and playing regularly. The ethos of the club is now about introducing and developing new players to the game, and acting as a link for those Under 18 players wishing to continue into adult rugby.
Harlequin Ladies currently participate in the National Challenge 2 South East South League, and also partake in regular tag and sevens tournaments. Training takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, sharing the benefits of a fantastic Clubhouse, bar and ground with Old Isleworthians Rugby Football Club.
As well as competitive rugby, the Harlequin Ladies enjoy a busy social calendar. Whether it’s attending match days at The Stoop, quizzes in The Albany, or just an old fashioned pub crawl there is always something in the pipeline! Annual events include attending the Marriot London Sevens, Kay Cary’s Sevens in Somerset, a boat race in Marble Park, and last but not least, a tour!
The Ladies also keep busy off the pitch supporting local fundraising events including the RFU’s Injured Players Foundation and Restart. They also regularly volunteer to help run Cronk-Cunis Under 21 Rugby Festival.
Harlequin Ladies is a self-funded Club and at the heart of every amateur sport is the need for adequate funding. Any offer of sponsorship is always appreciated and no deal is too small! Contact us to find out what opportunities we can offer your business at quinsladies@hotmail.com
