Brown and Dombrandt shortlisted for Gallagher Premiership player of the month

Wednesday, 5th December 2018 @ 13:00

Mike Brown and Alex Dombrandt named on eight-man shortlist.

With two wins from three in the league Harlequins' Alex Dombrandt and Mike Brown have been recognised for their sterling efforts, alongside six other Gallagher Premiership players.

In his debut season for the Club, Dombrandt scored his first Gallagher Premiership try in an all-action display against Newcastle Falcons at The Stoop in November, and was named Man of the Match in the win over Exeter Chiefs at The Stoop last Friday.

With 304 Harlequins appearances to his name, Mike Brown topped the charts for metres made and carries in both wins over Newcastle Falcons and Exeter Chiefs. Remarkably, in last week's win, he made more offloads than the whole Chiefs side put together.

The shortlist is:

•         Mike Brown – Harlequins
•         Santiago Cordero – Exeter Chiefs
•         Alex Dombrandt - Harlequins
•         Faf de Klerk – Sale Sharks
•         Alex Lozowski – Saracens
•         Harry Thacker – Bristol Bears
•         Ollie Thorley – Gloucester Rugby
•         Jack Yeandle – Exeter Chiefs

It is becoming harder than ever to pick one star performer each month, which is why Premiership Rugby have opened the voting to the public on the official Premiership Rugby app.

The usual panel of nine judges remain - Nick Mullins (BT Sport), Alastair Eykyn (BT Sport), Mick Cleary (The Daily Telegraph), Sarah Mockford (Rugby World), Jonny Fordham (The Sun), Robert Kitson (The Guardian), Chris Jones (BBC 5 Live), David Rogers (Getty Images) and Tom Hamilton (ESPN) with Premiership Rugby Communications Director Paul Morgan acting as chair - but this season the public will act as a tenth judge.

Your vote and those from the other nine judges will then be tallied to reveal the winner each month.

So to ensure your favourite player wins, get voting on the official Premiership Rugby app. Access the Polls section in the More menu tab and get voting.
