Dave Ward to captain the side in Perth with debuts for Symons, Auterac and Earle
Harlequins has named the starting XV to play Glasgow Warriors in their second pre-season fixture on Saturday afternoon.
Following last week’s win at Jersey Reds Head of Rugby Paul Gustard said there would be a different looking line-up for this fixture and he has made wholesale changes to the team to face the Pro14 outfit at Perth’s pop-up stadium at North Inch.
Hooker Dave Ward will captain an exciting side which includes Danny Care at Scrum-half and Marcus Smith at Fly-half, and offers supporters the chance to see Matt Symons, Nick Auterac and Nathan Earle in a Quins shirt for the first time. There are also welcome returns for Joe Marchant at Centre and Renaldo Bothma at Number 8.
Gustard said: “We were pleased we found a way to win against a competitive Jersey side last week and happy we had over 60 per cent possession – but we made far too many errors.
“We are looking forward to a different challenge against Glasgow in Perth this weekend and it is an opportunity for some others to show what they can do as we build towards our first Gallagher Premiership fixture of the season against Sale in two weeks’ time.
“The Club will be offering a big welcome to Matt, Nick and Nathan as they make their debuts and it is also a chance for Dave Ward to lead the side.”
Gustard added that he was amazed by the travelling support in Jersey last week, where over 400 Quins supporters travelled to see the side win 33-14 last weekend.
“I was taken aback to see how many came to Jersey to see us play and I want to thank all our supporters for everything they give to the Club,” he said.
“We are lucky to have such a loyal, passionate and knowledgeable support and we know how crucial they will all be to help us achieve our ambitions. I was also pleased to see the boys take time after the match to thank the supporters for coming because they know that when we win, we win together.”
It was reported this week that seated tickets were sold out at North Inch, where a 5,000 capacity stand has been built for this one-off fixture and the atmosphere promises to be electric for this friendly.
Perth are creating a festival atmosphere for the occasion with coaching sessions being offered to younger fans, mini Rugby matches being played and musicians performing in the food and drink courts.
Tickets are still available at www.glasgowwarriors.org or by visiting the ticket office at North Inch from 10am on Saturday.
