World-class hockey heads to The Stoop this summer

Great Britain Men and Women take on New Zealand in a FIH Pro League double-header on Sunday 23rd June

When the rugby season draws to a close, The Stoop will welcome a host of  new sporting heroes as some of the world’s best hockey players go head-to-head at the Home of Harlequins on Saturday 23rd June (push back: 14.00).

With tickets from just £34 for adults and £11.50 for juniors and already over 8,000 sold, it’s guaranteed to be a fantastic day out for all the family to enjoy. With less than six weeks to go, Harlequins want to give you the low down on who to watch and what to expect.

Great Britain Women are the current Olympic Champions after their sensational penalty shoot-out win over the Netherlands in Rio 2016.

Hollie Pearne-Webb, who scored the winning penalty, will captain the squad at The Stoop for their final group game of the new FIH Pro League – a competition that will act as a qualifier for the World Cup and Olympic Games.

Other notable players include Lily Owsley, who scored the opening goal in the Olympic Final, and Laura Unsworth, who was also part of Great Britain’s eight-match unbeaten run to the gold medal.

Great Britain men will also be taking to the field, and will be led by Adam Dixon, who has played more than 200 international matches. The squad currently third in the standings with the top four sides progressing to the Grand Final.

The Stoop will begin its stunning transformation from first-class rugby surface to state-of-the-art hockey pitch next week so keep an eye on our channels for updates on its progress.
